Marketing, Events & Communications

The Marketing, Events & Communications Committee is, in effect, a full-service advertising agency with Downtown Nanaimo as its sole client. Whether it is organizing traffic building events in the Old City Quarter or on Diana Krall Plaza, developing cooperative advertising programs for downtown businesses, or providing information to our members through City Notes, the MEC Committee has two basic goals:

1. Build traffic in downtown Nanaimo
2. Create a more positive image of downtown throughout the city and across the island
