September 29, 2016 Turn Down the Heat Week

We hope to see you TURNING DOWN THE HEAT next year!

Downtown Nanaimo would like to give a HUGE thank you to this year’s Turn Down the Heat Week participants! All together, the 11 participants were able to accumulate 271 items that were donated to the Nanaimo Women’s Centre and Nanaimo Men’s Centre.

3 amazing DNBIA volunteers spent the afternoon on November 2nd sorting women items from men items while also counting all items in total.

Clydesdale Moving & Hauling spent the morning and early afternoon picking up the donation boxes from all the participating businesses and hand delivering them to the Nanaimo Women’s Centre and Nanaimo Men’s Centre. A huge thank you to them as they sponsored their time and work for this great campaign!

Some of the participants really got into the TURN DOWN THE HEAT theme¬†and took some awesome photo’s that the DNBIA shared all over social media. Check them out!
